Adobe Internships

As an Adobe intern for a summer, a semester, or an academic year, you’ll get paid to work side by side with some of the most talented professionals in the digital media and marketing space, make valuable contributions to business-critical projects, and leave better prepared to ace your academic pursuits.  Adobe internships include competitive salary and holiday pay, fun social events, chances to participate in community service projects, opportunities to make career contacts, and, as an added bonus, employee discounts on Adobe products.  Internships are offered at Adobe offices in San Jose and San Francisco, California; Seattle, Washington; Lehi, Utah; and other key areas around the world.

Advanced Studies in England: ASE Bath

Washington and Lee is one of thirteen U. S. colleges and universities affiliated with Advanced Studies in England (ASE), an undergraduate humanities program based in the city of Bath that offers qualified students a one- or two-semester or a summer experience. Students live in Georgian townhouses near the city center. The seminar-sized classes taught by British faculty often include study trips designed to deepen the students’ understanding of the particular curricular subjects and English culture. ASE is formally associated with University College, Oxford University where students study for a 9-day residency each semester.  Students also spend a week each semester in Stratford-upon-Avon while attending the Royal Shakespeare Company productions.

Alexander von Humboldt Foundation German Chancellor Fellowship

The German Chancellor Fellowship allows recent university graduates to spend one year conducting a project of their design with the host of their choice in Germany. The project can be in any field, but should be research-based and create a positive social impact. Benefits include full financial support, a language course, and a study tour culminating with meeting Chancellor Angela Merkel.  German language proficiency is not required.

Alfred Wallace Awards for Outstanding Field Ecologists

Operation Wallacea is a network of academics from European and North American universities, who design and implement biodiversity and conservation management research programmes. Research is supported by students who join the programme, to strengthen their CV or resume, gain course credit, or collect data for a dissertation or thesis.

Amelia Earhart Fellowship

The Amelia Earhart Fellowship program helps talented women, pursuing advanced studies in the typically male-dominated fields of aerospace-related sciences and engineering, achieve their educational goals. The Fellowship enables these women to invest in state-of-the-art computers to conduct their research, purchase expensive books and resource materials, and participate in specialized studies around the globe.

American Center of Oriental Research Scholarships and Fellowships (Jordan)

The American Center of Oriental Research (ACOR) in Amman, Jordan is a non profit academic institution dedicated to promoting research and publication in the fields of archaeology, anthropology, history, languages, theology, and other aspects of Near Eastern Studies.  ACor was established in 1968 and acts as a liaison between Jordanian, American, and international scholars and institutions interested in working in the Arab world.  The center serves as  a meeting and living place for academics woking on research, education, and training.

American School of Classical Studies at Athens Summer Sessions

The Summer Sessions of the American School of Classical Studies are an intensive introduction to Greece from antiquity through the modern period. The individuals selected for this program are normally graduate and advanced undergraduate students and high school and college teachers with clear evidence of interest in the Classical world as well as academic preparation in this area.

American-Scandinavian Foundation

The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) offers fellowships and grants to individuals to pursue research, study or creative arts projects in one or more Scandinavian country for up to one year. The number of awards varies each year according to total funds available. Awards are made in all fields.

Amgen Scholars Summer Research Program

The Amgen Scholars Program provides hundreds of undergraduate students with the opportunity to engage in a hands-on summer research experience at some of the world’s leading institutions.  A listing of current US institutions can be found here.  Washington and Lee students are eligible to apply to programs in the US (US citizens only) and Japan (students of all nationalities).
