Name: Ekaterina Tsvetkova
Class Year: 2020
Hometown: Smolyan, Bulgaria
Major(s): Business Administration, German
Opportunity and Year: German American Exchange Internship, Summer 2019
Project Summary: The German American Exchange program allows students studying in American universities to intern with a German company for three months.
How did W&L prepare you for this opportunity? W&L’s Liberal Arts model allowed me to pursue two different fields in which I am interested. W&L’s learning process that goes beyond the classroom also helped me. My previous study abroad experiences in Germany allowed me to grasp the importance of understanding other cultures in our globalized world even more.
Why did you apply for this opportunity? I applied because the program pertains to both of my fields of interest. The internship will help me practice German in a professional setting while I will also have the opportunity to understand the business practices in the EU’s leading economy.
Post-graduation Plans: I have not decided definitively. hope to get accepted to a graduate institution or get a job offer. I would be grateful for either.
How will this opportunity help you achieve your goals? The internship will expose me to real world business situations and allow me to put all the skills I have learned into perspective.
