Virginia Commonwealth University Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP)
The Virginia Commonwealth University Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP) is a one-year bio-medical research training program for recent college graduates from underrepresented groups considering graduate-level training in the bio-medical sciences. The program provides scholars with a year-long, paid, mentored research experience. PREP Scholars have the opportunity to take graduate level courses and a GRE preparation course and also receive formal advice on selection of graduate programs, preparation of graduate school applications, and preparation for graduate school interviews.
PREP scholars receive competitive stipends. Students must be interested in pursuing a Ph.D. or a M.D./Ph.D. Applicants must have earned a baccalaureate degree or its equivalent at the time of enrollment, and no more than 36 months prior to their selection for participation.
