U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Research Participation Programs

The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) Research Participation Programs at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) are educational and training programs designed to provide students, recent graduates, and university faculty opportunities to participate in project-specific FDA research and developmental activities.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) discipline, or a related public health discipline (such as economics or health communications); or have received such a degree within five years of the start date of the appointment; or currently serve as a full-time faculty member at an accredited college or university.  Current undergraduate and graduate students may hold appointments during the summer or part-time appointments during the semester. Appointments are made for up to one year.
