Princeton in Latin America
Princeton in Latin America (PiLA) offers service experiences in Latin America and the Caribbean to match outstanding recent college graduates who are interested in year-long service fellowship opportunities with partner NGOs and community, government and multilateral organizations that are engaged in socially responsible development projects throughout the region. PiLA fellowships offer formative field experience to those interested in working with community oriented organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean and those who are eager to pursue careers in international development.
The array of opportunities is continually evolving in such fields as education, health, environmental conservation, communications, microfinance, human services and human rights. For nearly all posts, working knowledge of the target language (Spanish, Portuguese or French) is necessary, although a handful of English-teaching positions are sometimes available, especially for those with formal ESL (English as a Second Language) certification.
