The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) offers full and part-time internships in the fall, spring and summer for undergraduates, advanced students, and recent graduates who are interested in gaining practical experience in public policy. Interns participate in a variety of activities that support individual programs, including research, writing, and project development.

The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) Research Participation Programs at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are educational and training programs designed to provide students, recent graduates, and university faculty opportunities to participate in project-specific CDC research, current public health research and developmental activities.
The Rangel Program is a collaborative effort between Howard University and the U.S. State Department that seeks to attract and prepare outstanding young people for careers as diplomats in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State. The program seeks individuals interested in helping to shape a freer, more secure and prosperous world through formulating, representing, and implementing U.S. foreign policy.
The Charles Koch Institute is an educational organization focused on the importance of free societies and how they increase well-being for the overwhelming majority of people. Through the Institute’s professional education, research, and training programs, they work to prepare professionals for careers that improve well-being by advancing free societies. For more than two decades, Charles G. Koch has given professionals and students the opportunity to turn their passion for liberty into careers through professional education programs. Several programs might be of interest to W&L students. Programs are offered in the fall, spring, and summer.
A grant from the Christian A. Johnson Endeavor Foundation in support of W&L’s strategic initiative in global learning will provide support for international student collaboration.

And students from across the country will be coming to the city to take part in internships that will enrich their lives and future careers.
Cornell University’s New York State Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva, New York offers a Summer Research Scholars Program where undergraduate students can participate in exciting projects within one of four disciplines including Plant Pathology and Plant-Microbe Biology, Entomology, Food Science and Horticulture. Student interns will have the opportunity to work with faculty, their graduate students and post docs on research projects that can be laboratory or field-based.
The Coro Kansas City Summer Internship in Public Affairs is offered through a partnership with Park University’s Hauptmann School for Public Affairs. The 10-week program is open to recent college graduates and to sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students from any college or university. Coro Kansas City pays summer tuition for program participants and provides a stipend.
