The Autry Fellowship is a competitive fellowship program for talented and ambitious recent college graduates. It provides an opportunity to work for one year as a full-time, paid staff member at MDC (originally known as “Manpower Development Corp.”). The Autry Fellowship supports the mission of MDC–to help organizations and communities in the South close the gaps that separate people from opportunity–by developing a cadre of young leaders who have experience promoting economic development, increasing equity and excellence in education, building inclusive civic cultures, and who are poised and ready to apply their new learning to benefit this region.

This Berkeley Lab Program places students from 4 year institutions in paid internships in science and engineering. Students work with scientists and engineers on projects related to the Lab’s research program. Typically, BLUR participants are students at partnership schools or have an established relationship with Lab scientists and funding sources have been identified. Students initially interested in participating in Berkeley Lab should apply through DOE’s SULI program.
Each year, Bettis hires approximately 25 students for its summer intern program. Laboratory internships offer students a unique opportunity to participate in the important work done at Bettis and a chance to work with some of the finest technical people in the country.
The purpose of the Cabell Brand Center Scholarship Program is to help students with rising tuition costs and to encourage college students to seriously consider public service. Each year the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace offers one-year fellowships to uniquely qualified graduating seniors and individuals who have graduated during the past academic year. James C. Gaither Junior Fellows work as research assistants to the endowment’s senior associates – academics, former government officials, lawyers and journalists from around the world – on a variety of international affairs issues.
The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching Post-Baccalaureate Fellowship is a paid, two-year program that provides recent college graduates with a chance to learn from and contribute to the Foundation’s efforts in the field of education.
Post-Baccalaureate Fellows serve as full-time employees of the Foundation and are placed in different programs and departments. Through work supervised by an assigned mentor, fellows gain a range of widely applicable professional skills in research, communication, group facilitation, teamwork, project management, writing, and leadership. The fellowship is cohort-based and supported by a Fellowship Director, allowing the Fellows to regularly engage in meaningful learning activities with peers in the program. Fellows are asked to assume leadership roles in the program in order to actively shape and continually improve the Fellowship.
Overall, Post-Baccalaureate Fellows receive broad exposure to the Foundation’s current work, including the areas of education policy, education research, and networked improvement science. In addition, Fellows are introduced to the deep expertise and large professional network of Carnegie staff and partners.

Fellows must have completed their bachelor’s degree within the past two years to be eligible for the program and be authorized to work in the U.S. The Foundation does not offer visa sponsorship for the fellowship program.
Catholic Volunteer Network, established in 1963, is a non-profit membership organization of 215 domestic and international volunteer and lay mission programs. Catholic Volunteer Network fosters and promotes full-time domestic and international faith-based volunteer service opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds, and skills. They maintain a searchable database of volunteer opportunities.
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) offers full and part-time internships in the fall, spring and summer for undergraduates, advanced students, and recent graduates who are interested in gaining practical experience in public policy. Interns participate in a variety of activities that support individual programs, including research, writing, and project development.
The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) Research Participation Programs at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are educational and training programs designed to provide students, recent graduates, and university faculty opportunities to participate in project-specific CDC research, current public health research and developmental activities.
The Rangel Program is a collaborative effort between Howard University and the U.S. State Department that seeks to attract and prepare outstanding young people for careers as diplomats in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State. The program seeks individuals interested in helping to shape a freer, more secure and prosperous world through formulating, representing, and implementing U.S. foreign policy.
