Beinecke Scholarship

The Beinecke Scholarship program seeks to encourage and enable highly motivated students to pursue opportunities available to them and to be courageous in the selection of a graduate course of study in the arts, humanities and social sciences.  It is awarded annually to juniors who demonstrate both some form of financial need (no matter how small) and a clear interest in continuing their studies at the graduate level.  This scholarship is intended only for students who wish to pursue the MA or Ph.D., and therefore is not open to those who wish to apply to Law, Medical, or Business School.

Boren Scholarships and Fellowships

Boren Scholarships and Fellowships provide unique funding opportunities for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to study abroad in world regions critical to U.S. interests, and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East.  Boren Scholars and Fellows represent a variety of academic backgrounds, but all are interested in studying less commonly taught languages.  In exchange for funding, recipients commit to working in the federal government for a minimum of one year.

Boren Special Initiative for STEM majors

Boren Scholarships provide unique funding opportunities for U.S. undergraduate students to study abroad in world regions critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Bridging Scholarships: Study Abroad in Japan

The American Association of Teachers of Japanese Bridging Project offers scholarships to American undergraduate students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan. Students receive a stipend to assist with the travel and living expenses they will incur while studying abroad in Japan for a semester or an academic year.  Students studying in Japan on summer programs are not eligible to apply.

Cabell Brand Center Scholarship Program

The purpose of the Cabell Brand Center Scholarship Program is to help students with rising tuition costs and to encourage college students to seriously consider public service. The Cabell Brand Center offers college scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students interested in taking courses and volunteering in programs – “To Promote the Common Good” – relevant to any of the three goals of the Cabell Brand Center:

Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Program

The Rangel Program is a collaborative effort between Howard University and the U.S. State Department that seeks to attract and prepare outstanding young people for careers as diplomats in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State. The program seeks individuals interested in helping to shape a freer, more secure and prosperous world through formulating, representing, and implementing U.S. foreign policy.

Churchill Scholarship

The Churchill Scholarship provides funding to American students for a year of Master’s study in science, mathematics, and engineering at the University of Cambridge, based at Churchill College. The Scholarship was set up at the request of Sir Winston Churchill in order to fulfil his vision of US-UK scientific exchange with the goal of advancing science and technology on both sides of the Atlantic, helping to ensure our future prosperity and security.

College Board’s Scholarship Search

The College Board’s Scholarship Search helps students find scholarships, financial aid, and internships.  To identify funding for study abroad, select “Study Abroad” under eligibility requirements on page 3 of the search criteria.

Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals

The CBYX program annually provides yearlong fellowships covering two months of intensive German language training, a semester of study at German University or University of Applied Sciences, a five-month internship with a German company in the participant’s career field, housing, transatlantic airfare, health insurance, and a monthly stipend for living expenses.

Consortium for Graduate Study in Management

The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management is committed to increasing the representation of African Americans, Hispanic Americans and Native Americans in American business schools and corporate management.  The Consortium awards merit-based, full-tuition fellowships to top MBA candidates who have a proven record for promoting inclusion in school, in their jobs or in their personal lives. Through The Consortium’s common application, apply to up to six of the country’s leading MBA programs.
