Study Abroad Opportunities

The US-UK Fulbright Commission offers Summer Institutes that provide the opportunity for US undergraduates (first years and sophomores) to come to the UK on a three to six week academic and cultural summer program.  Applicants should have had little or no experience in the UK or outside the US.  Participants in these programs will experience an exciting academic program at a UK University, explore the culture, heritage and history of the UK, and develop their academic abilities.  The topics vary with the specific institute.  The Summer Institutes will cover the majority of participant costs.
Program Deadline:  February 23 or 26, 2017 – Varies with Institute

The Gilman Scholarship Program offers awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding to participate in study abroad programs worldwide.
Application deadline for summer 2017, fall term 2017, and academic year 2017-18 study abroad programs:  March 7, 2017

Created to assist U.S. students with demonstrated financial need and limited prior experience in East and Southeast Asia, Freeman Awards for Study in Asia (Freeman-ASIA) will fund students to participate in study abroad programs, with awards ranging from $3,000 per student for summer study and $5,000 per semester, to a maximum of $7,000 for a full year abroad.
Deadlines: Summer 2017 programs – March 1, 2017; Fall 2017 and Academic Year 2017-18 programs – April 4, 2017.
