How did W&L prepare you for this opportunity? Washington & Lee helped me establish a well-rounded experience in my 4 years. My coaches encouraged academic success and my professors supported my aspirations of competing athletically on the national level. It is this sense of continuing support that enabled me to have a unique and unforgettable connection with the school.
Why did you apply for this opportunity? I applied for this scholarship at the recommendation of Kami Gardner and the W&L Athletic Department.
How will this opportunity help you achieve your goals? This opportunity allows me to further my education and continue to represent W&L outside of Lexington, VA.
I was a 4-year varsity member of the Men’s Swim Team, a member of Phi Kappa Psi and an RA to first-year students for 3 years.
I was a participant in the HHMI Research Program at Washington & Lee investigating the neurocognitive effects of a high fat diet. I also received a Beta Beta Beta national grant to conduct an independent line of research in my senior year.
