Project Summary: The Kemper Scholars program prepares students for leadership and service, especially in the fields of administration and business. Kemper Scholars receive scholarship financial assistance for three years of college.

How did W&L prepare you for this opportunity? Through the help of the Career Development Center, Dean Jensen, and past W&L Kemper Scholars, I was amply prepared for the interviews and expectations of the Kemper scholar program.

Why did you apply for this opportunity? The Kemper Scholarship is for individuals from liberal arts schools who want to pursue a career in business management. I’ve had a passion for a career in finance from an early age, and I knew that the Kemper Scholarship and the foundation would provide me with invaluable knowledge and skills to help my financial career.

Post-graduation Plans: I plan to go into consulting after my four years.

How will this opportunity help you achieve your goals? The Kemper Foundation not only provides opportunities for internships post-sophomore and junior year, but it also provides conferences and a network of individuals whom I can confer with about my goals and aspirations.

Extracurricular Involvement:

Community Financial Freedom, Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, and Shepherd Poverty Program

Off-campus Experience:

Shepherd Internship (Summer 2013)
