Rotary Foundation Local Scholarships and Grants
The Rotary Foundation offers scholarship and grant opportunities through local Rotary Districts and Clubs. Contact your local Rotary Club to learn more about Rotary’s scholarship opportunities.
The following scholarship may be of particular interest to Washington and Lee students:
Rotary District 7570 Skelton/Jones Scholarships can be used to fund one year of post-baccalaureate study at a recognized university in a country other than the USA or Canada. Applicants must be planning studies that lead to sustainable, high-impact outcomes in one of the following six areas of focus:
- peace and conflict prevention/resolution
- disease prevention and treatment
- water and sanitation
- maternal and child health
- basic education and literacy
- economic and community development.
In addition, preference will be given to applicants planning studies at an educational institution in a country whose national language is different from that of the applicant.
The district application deadline is in mid June. However, all applicants must be sponsored by a local Rotary Club, which will have an earlier deadline that is set by that club.
