Luce Scholar Program

The Luce Scholars Program provides future American leaders with a deeper, first-hand appreciation of Asian cultures and societies. Every year American college graduates are chosen to live for ten months in Asia and to work with fellow professionals there. The Luce Scholars program is not for Asian specialists or for those who have already lived for some time in Asia; instead, it offers a cultural and experiential opportunity to those with career interests outside of Asian studies who might not otherwise live or work in Asia.

The program provides stipends, airfare, language training, and individualized professional placement in Asia, and welcomes applications from college seniors, graduate students, and young professionals in a variety of fields.   A candidate may have spent up to a maximum of twelve weeks in countries where Luce Scholars are placed.
