American Center of Oriental Research Scholarships and Fellowships (Jordan)

The American Center of Oriental Research (ACOR) in Amman, Jordan is a non profit academic institution dedicated to promoting research and publication in the fields of archaeology, anthropology, history, languages, theology, and other aspects of Near Eastern Studies.  ACor was established in 1968 and acts as a liaison between Jordanian, American, and international scholars and institutions interested in working in the Arab world.  The center serves as  a meeting and living place for academics woking on research, education, and training.

Explorers Club Grants

The Explorers Club is an international multidisciplinary professional society dedicated to the advancement of field research and the ideal that it is vital to preserve the instinct to explore.  The Explorers Club promotes the scientific exploration of land, sea, air, and space by supporting research and education in the physical, natural and biological sciences.

Ford Foundation Fellowship Program

The Ford Fellowship program provides three years of support for individuals engaged in research-based graduate study leading to a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Doctor of Science (Sc.D.) degree.  The awards will be made to individuals who, in the judgment of the review panels, have demonstrated superior academic achievement, are committed to a career in teaching and research at the college or university level, show promise of future achievement as scholars and teachers, and are well prepared to use diversity as a resource for enriching the education of all students.

Jane C. Waldbaum Archaeological Field School Scholarship

Established in honor of AIA Past President Jane Waldbaum, this scholarship is intended to help students who are planning to participate in archaeological field work for the first time. Students majoring in archaeology or related disciplines are especially encouraged to apply. The Scholarship Fund provides funding for successful applicants to help pay expenses associated with participation in an archaeological field work project (minimum stay one month).

Minority Scholarship in Classics and Classical Archeology

The Committee on Minority Scholarships of the American Philological Association (APA) invites applications from minority undergraduate students for a scholarship to be awarded to support a summer opportunity. The purpose of the scholarship is to further an undergraduate’s preparation for graduate work in classics or classical archaeology. Eligible proposals might include (but are not limited to) participation in classical summer programs or field schools in Italy, Greece, Egypt, etc., or language training at institutions in the U.S, Canada, or Europe.
