The American Association of Teachers of Japanese Bridging Project offers scholarships to American undergraduate students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan. Students receive a stipend to assist with the travel and living expenses they will incur while studying abroad in Japan for a semester or an academic year. Students studying in Japan on summer programs are not eligible to apply.

The purpose of the Cabell Brand Center Scholarship Program is to help students with rising tuition costs and to encourage college students to seriously consider public service. The Cabell Brand Center offers college scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students interested in taking courses and volunteering in programs – “To Promote the Common Good” – relevant to any of the three goals of the Cabell Brand Center:
Each year the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace offers one-year fellowships to uniquely qualified graduating seniors and individuals who have graduated during the past academic year. James C. Gaither Junior Fellows work as research assistants to the endowment’s senior associates – academics, former government officials, lawyers and journalists from around the world – on a variety of international affairs issues.
The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching Post-Baccalaureate Fellowship is a paid, two-year program that provides recent college graduates with a chance to learn from and contribute to the Foundation’s efforts in the field of education.
Post-Baccalaureate Fellows serve as full-time employees of the Foundation and are placed in different programs and departments. Through work supervised by an assigned mentor, fellows gain a range of widely applicable professional skills in research, communication, group facilitation, teamwork, project management, writing, and leadership. The fellowship is cohort-based and supported by a Fellowship Director, allowing the Fellows to regularly engage in meaningful learning activities with peers in the program. Fellows are asked to assume leadership roles in the program in order to actively shape and continually improve the Fellowship.
Overall, Post-Baccalaureate Fellows receive broad exposure to the Foundation’s current work, including the areas of education policy, education research, and networked improvement science. In addition, Fellows are introduced to the deep expertise and large professional network of Carnegie staff and partners.

Fellows must have completed their bachelor’s degree within the past two years to be eligible for the program and be authorized to work in the U.S. The Foundation does not offer visa sponsorship for the fellowship program.
Catholic Volunteer Network, established in 1963, is a non-profit membership organization of 215 domestic and international volunteer and lay mission programs. Catholic Volunteer Network fosters and promotes full-time domestic and international faith-based volunteer service opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds, and skills. They maintain a searchable database of volunteer opportunities.
Each summer, the Center for Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh (CNUP) sponsors a 10-week program in which selected undergraduate students conduct research investigating diverse aspects of nervous system function under the guidance of individual CNUP training faculty. CNUP training faculty investigate diverse aspects of nervous system function. Consequently, the technical features of an undergraduate summer research project might include neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, molecular biology, brain imaging, computer simulations, neuropsychology, or behavioral assessments. Student recipients of this competitive fellowship will receive a stipend and will be provided housing at no cost.
The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) Research Participation Programs at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are educational and training programs designed to provide students, recent graduates, and university faculty opportunities to participate in project-specific CDC research, current public health research and developmental activities.

The Churchill Scholarship provides funding to American students for a year of Master’s study in science, mathematics, and engineering at the University of Cambridge, based at Churchill College. The Scholarship was set up at the request of Sir Winston Churchill in order to fulfil his vision of US-UK scientific exchange with the goal of advancing science and technology on both sides of the Atlantic, helping to ensure our future prosperity and security.
City Year partners with public schools in high-poverty communities to help bridge the gap between what students need and what schools are designed to provide. City Year corps members provide 11 months of full-time service as tutors, mentors, and role models to help children stay in school and on track and transform schools and communities across the United States. Just as important, during their year of service, corps members develop civic leadership skills they can use throughout a lifetime of community service. City Year corps members are as diverse a group as the communities they serve.
